Every month I will post a few of the things we are working on in class so that you will know what you can do to have further study in the home. A lot of times it could just be as simple as counting things out your car window to teach counting with understanding or pointing at each word as you read to teach one to one correspondance.
Science, Social Studies and Health:
Go to, http://d321.k12.id.us/main/curriculum/index.html. We will be continuing Welcome to Kindergarten until September 8th. I will write a new post when we are starting a new unit. A large focus has been on cleanliness.
Math:
-Calendar (Month, Day, Year, Numbers in a sequence)
-AB Pattern
-Organizing shapes
-Counting with understanding and recognize "how many" in a set of objects.
-Connect number words with nummerals.
Literacy:
-Introduce alphabet (we will start making our alphafriends book this wednesday, we will have it ready to bring home in time for harvest to read at home.)
-Concepts of print (Title, direction of reading, one to one correspondance of words)
- Reading comprehension
