In Kindergarten we are not all reading independently, so you can keep track of minutes doing the following:
-Minutes spent reading to your child (or the child can independently look at books).
-Minutes spent reviewing our alphafriends.
-Minutes spent reviewing letter names (our goal by December is to have each child be able to name 33 letters or more in a minute).
-Minutes spent reviewing rhyme.)
-Minutes spent reviewing beginning sounds. (A great game for this is I Spy. Start by saying,"I spy something that begins with the /t/ sound." Anything that your child says that starts with a /t/ is a winner. The let them spy something that begins with a new sound.)
